Everything about downloading video, audio and photos with the Meridian website and Telegram bot

General

What is Meridian Media?

An online service for downloading video, audio and photos by link. It works on meridianload.ru and in the Telegram bot @MeridianDownBot. Learn more on the “What is Meridian” page.

Is it free?

Yes. Downloading on the site is free and needs no sign-up. The bot is free too, with a daily limit; the Meridian VIP subscription in the bot removes the limit and ads.

Do I need to install a program or extension?

No. The site works in any modern browser on phones and computers, and the bot works in Telegram. The service has no extensions or apps.

Which sites are supported?

YouTube, VK, TikTok, Instagram, Rutube, Dzen, Odnoklassniki, X (Twitter), Facebook, Pinterest, Reddit, Twitch, Vimeo, Dailymotion and SoundCloud. The full list is in the “Supported sites” section.

Is there a captcha?

No. Paste a link and choose the quality right away.

How to download

How do I download a video on the site?

Copy the link to the post, paste it into the field on any page of the site and choose a quality or “MP3 audio”. The file will be saved to your Downloads folder.

How can I download faster, without pasting into the field?

Type meridianload.ru/ before the video address in the address bar, e.g. meridianload.ru/https://youtu.be/…, and press Enter. The site opens and processes the link right away.

How do I download on iPhone?

Open the site in Safari (iOS 13 or later), paste the link and choose a quality. The file appears in the Files app → Downloads; to move it to Photos, tap Share → Save Video.

How do I download on Android?

Open the site in Chrome or another browser, paste the link and choose a quality. The file will be in Files → Downloads and usually shows up in the gallery right away. Step-by-step guide: “Download YouTube videos on Android”.

Where do I find the downloaded file?

In your browser’s downloads folder: on Android — Files → Download, on iPhone — Files → Downloads, on Windows — the Downloads folder (Ctrl+J in the browser), on Mac — Downloads in Finder.

How do I download via Telegram?

Send the link to the @MeridianDownBot bot and choose a format — the file arrives in the chat. In any other chat you can type @MeridianDownBot link and send the video straight to the person you’re talking to.

Formats and quality

What format is the video saved in?

MP4. For YouTube and VK the service picks H.264 and AAC codecs, so the file plays on any phone, computer and TV. From TikTok and Instagram you get the platform’s original file (sometimes H.265 or VP9): modern smartphones play it, and on an older computer you can use the free VLC player.

What is the maximum quality?

Up to 1080p (Full HD), if the original video has it. The list of qualities and file sizes is shown before downloading.

Can I download just the audio?

Yes, choose “MP3 audio”. The sound is saved at 192 kbps.

Can I download photos and carousels?

Yes. For Instagram and TikTok photo posts the service shows a separate button for each image.

Limits and errors

What are the limits on the site?

Files up to 1 GB and up to 15 files per hour from one address. Larger files — up to 2 GB — are sent by the Telegram bot.

Why won’t the video download?

Most often the post is private, deleted, available only after signing in, or restricted by the platform. Try again later or use the bot. If the error persists on a public link, let us know.

Can I download Stories, private accounts or VK music?

Not yet: this content is available only after signing in. The service never asks for your login or password.

Can I download a whole playlist?

On the site each video is downloaded separately. The Telegram bot @MeridianDownBot can download YouTube playlists.

Safety and data

Does the service store my files?

No. The file is prepared just for you and deleted right after download; if it isn’t collected, after 20 minutes.

What data does the site collect?

Technical request data and anonymized statistics via Yandex Metrica (cookies, Session Replay). Details are in the Privacy Policy.

What content can I download?

Only content you have the rights to: your own materials, freely licensed content, or content the copyright holder allows to be downloaded.
