How to download VK videos on a phone and computer

On Android

1. Open the post in the VK app and tap Share → Copy link — the option has the same name in the VK Video app.
2. Go to meridianload.ru in Chrome, Samsung Internet or any other browser.
3. Paste the link into the field — a card with the options appears automatically.
4. Tap the quality you need and confirm the download if the browser asks.

On iPhone and iPad

1. Copy the link to the post via Share → Copy link.
2. Open meridianload.ru in Safari (iOS 13 or later) and paste the link.
3. Choose a quality and tap “Download” in the Safari dialog.
4. The file appears in Files → Downloads; from there you can save it to Photos.

On a computer (Windows, Mac, Linux)

Copy the VK page address from the address bar and paste it into the field on this page. Even faster — type meridianload.ru/ before the address right in the address bar and press Enter: the site opens and starts processing the link immediately.

Supported links

The service understands vk.com, m.vk.com, vk.ru and vkvideo.ru addresses. The key thing is that the link contains a video ID like video-123_456 or clip-123_456.

• Videos from communities and personal pages that are open to everyone.
• VK Clips — short vertical videos.
• A video attached to a post: open the video itself and copy the link to it, not to the wall post.
• Links from VK Video (vkvideo.ru) — the same as vk.com.

Quality and formats

VK stores videos in several qualities — from 144p to 1080p. The service shows all available options with the file size. The file is saved as MP4, which opens on any phone and computer without extra software. The “MP3 audio” button saves only the video’s audio track.

What can’t be downloaded

• Videos from closed groups and profiles, “friends only” videos.
• Tracks from the Music section — the service works only with videos; you can get the sound from a video as MP3.
• Live streams while they are on air, and paid content.

Where to find the downloaded video

The site delivers the file as a regular browser download, so a VK video ends up wherever your browser saves everything else:

• Android — the Files app (or My Files) → the Download folder. The gallery usually shows the video on its own; if not, open the file from Downloads.
• iPhone and iPad — the Files app → Downloads (iCloud Drive or On My iPhone). To get the video into Photos, open it and tap Share → Save Video.
• Windows — the Downloads folder (C:\Users\name\Downloads); press Ctrl+J to open the list of recent downloads.
• Mac — the Downloads folder in Finder; in Safari the download list is the arrow icon to the right of the address bar.

Common errors

• “The content is private or available only after signing in” — the post is private, age-restricted or for subscribers only. The service downloads only what opens without signing in.
• “The file is larger than 1024 MB” — the site has a 1 GB per-file limit. Choose a lower quality or send the link to the @MeridianDownBot bot: it delivers files up to 2 GB.
• “Too many requests” — up to 15 files per hour can be downloaded from one address. Wait for the time shown in the message or continue in the Telegram bot.
• “The source has temporarily restricted access” or “The source is not responding” — a restriction on the platform’s side. Retrying in a few minutes usually helps.
• If the error keeps happening on a working link, report it — include the link and the error text.
